Power System Engineer will perform steady-state simulations like load flow, short circuit and power quality studies(harmonic analysis and flicker analysis), as well as RMS and EMT simulations (FRT, FSM, Voltage control, Energisation, etc.) for PV, BESS, and Wind power plants. They will also ensure project compliance to local grid requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Perform steady-state simulations like load flow, short circuit and power quality studies (harmonic analysis and flicker analysis), as well as RMS and EMT simulations (FRT, FSM, Voltage control, Energisation, etc.) for PV, BESS, and Wind power plants
Analyse protection coordination studies for the power plants
Participate in grid code compliance assessments, model validations, and certification processes with utilities, consultants, or certification bodies
Provide technical input during project development, ensuring that grid connection factors are fully considered
Examine third-party studies, identify key issues, and suggest alternative solutions
Carry out feasibility studies for grid connections to assess available capacity and identify the most cost-effective connection solutions
Supervision and review of the conceptual, schematic, and detailed design of the HV grid connection, including calculations, technical specifications, and drawings for PV, BESS, and Wind projects
Identify trends in grid requirements per country of operation and how to ensure compliance at lowest cost
Coordinate with senior engineers the required measures to ensure project compliance
Discussions with local project developers per project
Ensures all project compliance before handing over to an EPC

3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience in grid compliance studies and power Systems
Strong understanding of international grid codes and TSO requirements (e.g., ENTSO-E and UK guidelines), and ability to interpret and apply them in customer projects
Experience participating in grid code compliance assessments, model validations, and certification processes with utilities, consultants, or certification bodies
Knowledge in design in areas of PV plants, BESS and Wind layouts, SLD, Power Transmission, System loss calculation, and general electrical requirements of large-scale power plants
Knowledge of electrical components/system design, identification of correct specification according to the project requirements, as per the standards
In-depth knowledge of power cables, transmission lines, power transformers, switchgear, relays, earthing and protection systems
Experience with tools such as Power Factory, PSS/E, and PSCAD, with hands-on Experience modelling conventional and renewable energy sources, control systems and FACTS
