Job Description:

PSC is seeking a talented Power System Engineer to join our Power System Studies team. Based in Melbourne or Hobart, if you have a passion for dynamic power system analysis and want to make an impact on major projects in the electricity industry, this is your opportunity to grow your career with a global leader.

Job Responsibility:

Deliver high-quality consultancy services under the guidance of senior consultants, specialising in dynamic power system studies for power networks projects
Work on both short-term and long-term assignments, supporting clients in power generation and transmission planning, reliability, feasibility studies, and network modelling
Perform power system analysis and modelling, including load flow, transient stability, short circuit, and small signal assessments
Conduct generator connection studies, voltage stability, arc-flash energy, insulation coordination, feasibility studies, and network planning
Prepare detailed technical reports and collaborate with global team members
Utilise industry-standard software (PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory)
Liaise with clients and team leaders to manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
Ensure projects meet the highest quality standards within budget and timeline
Contribute to project documentation, case studies, and proposals
Identify new business opportunities and communicate client needs to management

Requirements:

Minimum two years of experience in Power Systems engineering
Developed knowledge of industry regulations
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering (preferably with a power systems focus)
Skilled in power network analysis and simulation tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory
Strong communication, analytical, and relationship-building abilities
Must have unrestricted rights to work in Australia
Willing to travel as required
