Job Description:

PSC is seeking a talented Power System Engineer to join our Power System Studies team. Based in Melbourne or Hobart, if you have a passion for dynamic power system analysis and want to make an impact on major projects in the electricity industry, this is your opportunity to grow your career with a global leader.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver high-quality consultancy services under the guidance of senior consultants, specialising in dynamic power system studies for power networks projects
  • Work on both short-term and long-term assignments, supporting clients in power generation and transmission planning, reliability, feasibility studies, and network modelling
  • Perform power system analysis and modelling, including load flow, transient stability, short circuit, and small signal assessments
  • Conduct generator connection studies, voltage stability, arc-flash energy, insulation coordination, feasibility studies, and network planning
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and collaborate with global team members
  • Utilise industry-standard software (PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory)
  • Liaise with clients and team leaders to manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
  • Ensure projects meet the highest quality standards within budget and timeline
  • Contribute to project documentation, case studies, and proposals
  • Identify new business opportunities and communicate client needs to management

Requirements:

  • Minimum two years of experience in Power Systems engineering
  • Developed knowledge of industry regulations
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering (preferably with a power systems focus)
  • Skilled in power network analysis and simulation tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory
  • Strong communication, analytical, and relationship-building abilities
  • Must have unrestricted rights to work in Australia
  • Willing to travel as required
