Job Description

As a Power Solutions Specialist at Coates, you’ll provide expert advice to new and existing customers, network with external engineering and operational teams to drive sales of Power Generation, Hybrid Power and Electrical Distribution products. You will offer innovative solutions, package with delivery and build bespoke temporary power generation and distribution systems. Job Responsibility

  • Calling on new and existing customers to present Coates Power Solutions and products
  • Keenly focus on Mining, Utilities and Industrial markets
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers — become their "go-to" person for all things temporary power
  • Working closely with the Coates sales team supporting Account Managers and Major Project Managers with expert advice, engaging with customers as often as possible
  • Offer innovative solutions based on new technology, ie. Battery Energy Storage Systems
  • Size Diesel Generators, Batteries (BESS) and Solar arrays to meet a variety of applications
  • Work closely with Coates Power & HVAC engineering team to design and quote complex LV & HV power solutions
  • Provide pricing input, product recommendations and market insights to the Power & HVAC team
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and deliver presentations to Customers and the Coates team
  • Contribute to CRM, forecasting and general admin requirements
  • Work across WA, travelling regionally as required
  • Add value to the broader Solutions team, collaborate with our Traffic, Pumping, Water treatment and Site Accommodation business units

Requirements

  • Previous experience in account management or B2B sales, ideally within industrial, mining or utility sectors
  • Engineering or Trade background in Electrical and Power Generation
  • Product knowledge, particularly use and operation of diesel generators, motor starting and electrical distribution design
  • Confident presenting to customers in a board room, crib room or over the internet
  • Extremely high level of sales activity, networking and building relationships with operational and engineering teams
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence, educate, and deliver sales results
  • Strong track record in developing customer-focused solutions that grow accounts and build long-term value
  • Commercial mindset and analytical skills to interpret data, spot trends, and turn insights into action
  • Understanding value of solution selling, packaging and how to make your offer stand out
  • Willingness to travel regionally to meet with customers and carry out site inspections
  • Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment
  • Have a 'Can Do' attitude, happy to work as part of a team or hunt sales opportunities autonomously
