This position, located at Eielson AFB, Alaska, provides technical expertise as part of a team for the repair and maintenance of generators and other supporting equipment. The Generator Mechanic develops, refines, and optimizes maintenance programs to reduce generator fleet costs and maximize its reliability. This is a Department of Labor (DOL), Service Contract Act (SCA) position.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain clean and organized work environments at all times
Troubleshoot problems and resolve in a timely manner
Utilize technical skills to inspect, diagnose and analyze performance issues
Accomplish all required mechanical work for power generation on 12K-120K constant run equipment and other miscellaneous equipment
Evaluate, repair and maintain diesel engines used to power generators
Utilizing appropriate knowledge/skills handling and transporting hazardous materials routinely, while consistently following safety procedures
Perform preventative inspections and maintenance to enhance productivity and maintain readiness
Ensure compliance with BSEt Quality Control and Safety Programs
Other duties as assigned by the Program manager
Requirements:
Associate degree in technical field or equivalent Vocational/Military training
Trade school graduate with engine and mechanical focus
A minimum of 3 years’ experience
US Citizen
Secret Clearance or ability to obtain is required
Applicants must have a valid state driver’s license
Ability to read, analyze, and apply knowledge of both electrical and mechanical schematics
CDL w/HAZMAT endorsement and Tanker
Ability to speak, read, and write English
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems and powered support systems including their major mechanical and electrical components
