As a Power Engineer at Warrick Operations, you will provide electrical engineering expertise to support safe, reliable, and efficient power generation and distribution. This role is critical to maintaining and improving the performance of electrical systems that support manufacturing operations. You will collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure electrical systems are optimized for safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Provide engineering support for power generation and distribution systems to meet operational goals
Lead and manage electrical projects from concept through commissioning and closure
Develop and implement programs to improve electrical system performance and reliability
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in coordination with maintenance and production teams
Apply root cause analysis and engineering principles to identify and implement long-term solutions
Mentor and support technical staff to enhance knowledge of electrical systems and processes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to power generation and electrical systems
Support initiatives to reduce energy consumption and improve system efficiency
Participate in environmental audits and implement corrective actions as needed
Promote and uphold a strong safety culture in all engineering activities
Ensure all electrical systems and projects comply with safety standards and codes
Participate in safety reviews, risk assessments, and incident investigations
Provide technical input to improve electrical safety practices and training
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
Experience with power distribution systems, including low and medium voltage
Proficiency with PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC drives, and motor control systems
Demonstrated ability to lead and complete electrical engineering projects
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Nice to have:
5+ years of experience in power generation or heavy industrial electrical engineering
Experience with root cause problem solving and reliability engineering
Proven success leading capital projects in an industrial setting
Familiarity with Warrick Operations or similar industrial environments
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering software tools
