Requirements

10+ years related Power Design Engineering experience
Solid experience with schematic capture and simulation tools (including SPICE) is essential
practical background with PCB Layout tools and techniques
familiarity with power development CAD tools such as Cadence Sigrity PowerDC also important
Working knowledge of communication interfaces such as I2C/PMBus as well as firmware design experience are highly desirable
Extensive experience with both basic and power related Electronic Lab Equipment and test methods is required
BSEE degree minimum and MSEE degree will be a plus
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are an important requirement for this position

BS Degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years or MS with 8+ years of experience in related fields
Sound knowledge and hands-on experience in traditional and modern power electronic technologies
Low power and high power DC-DC topologies, gate driver, modulation techniques and control theories
Inverter technology for variable speed motor drive, including topologies and PWM techniques
Familiarity with both wide-band-gap and silicon power semiconductor devices
Passive power devices, e.g. inductors, capacitors, resistors and transformers

Design and build high voltage, high power density power electronics converter products for eVTOL applications
Develop and analyze electrical architectures and power converter (DC-DC) topologies, and ensure system functions, performance, safety and reliability requirements are achieved
Responsible for all aspects of power electronics designs required in an all-electric aircraft, from components to circuits, modules and system integration
Leads new designs from conception into production while working with a multidisciplinary team
Start to finish ownership of hardware – from specification to design, component selection, modeling, prototype, product build, verification testing, safety and reliability validation and manufacturing
Design electronic power supply and sensing circuits
Schematic, layout and PCB assembly design and review
Design and carry out prototype verification tests for proof of concept

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Master’s Degree or Ph.D. is a strong plus)
Minimum 10 years of experience in designing high-performance, cost-effective power conversion products, with a proven track record of successful project delivery
Extensive experience with high-frequency switch mode power conversion products and 3-phase AC systems
Expertise in designing resonant power conversion topologies and advanced circuit topologies utilizing wideband gap devices (SiC or GaN MOSFETs)
In-depth understanding of feedback loop stability and analysis, with the ability to optimize complex control systems
Experience in the design and/or fabrication of high-frequency magnetics utilizing ferrite core materials
Proficiency in both analog and digital embedded control design, with the ability to read and debug firmware code

Job Responsibility

Guide the team in the design, product development, testing, and troubleshooting of high-performance power conversion products: AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC, or AC-AC at various power levels ranging from 1kW to 30kW
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., UL, CSA, NEBS, FCC, CE, etc.) and drive the certification process
Architect and develop DSP or MCU-controlled (fully digital) power conversion systems from concept to commercial product, leveraging the latest technologies and methodologies
Develop and manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget
Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence within the engineering department
Prepare and review detailed technical documentation, including design reports, test reports, and user manuals
Present project status updates, technical findings, and strategic recommendations to senior management and stakeholders
Mentor and coach junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support to enhance team capabilities
