As an Electrical Engineer on the Wearable Team, you will design, build, and test prototype electrical systems for future consumer experiences within Meta’s Product Portfolio. You will become part of a team exploring new concepts through fast iterative prototyping. You will work cross-functionally with teams that will dynamically change depending on the problem and potentially include mechanical, optical, firmware and software. We want people who work well in teams, can take a board definition and implement with electrical system development, and can transition these designs into a high-volume consumer products.
Job Responsibility:
Support the electrical system development, qualification and system integration from the concept phase to mass production
Design schematics, direct board layout, conduct design reviews and draft design documentation
Manage hardware bringup and debug
Support manufacturing and assembly build. failure mode analysis, root cause diagnosis, and system level problem solving across the various project phases
Work closely with suppliers to influence their roadmap ensure their deliverables can match the product roadmap
Collaborate in a team environment and work across engineering disciplines to develop systems and manage trade offs across electronics, mechanics, optics, sensors, firmware and software
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
6+ years of experience in electrical engineering, hardware engineering or related experience
Proven knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals
Experience with schematic and board design using Cadence Or CAD or equivalent
Experience with use of oscilloscopes, high speed digital test equipment, logic analyzers, or function generators
Experience working with one of these technologies: digital signal processing, real-time image processing, display engineering, camera modules, mobile SoC and PMIC, or Battery Management System
Effective communication, collaboration and partnership with colleagues, cross functional partners in evolving development environments
Nice to have:
Experience characterizing power consumption, battery run time, and battery charging/discharging curve at each NPI (New Product Introduction) build
Experience collecting power measurements for weekly Software builds and drive power consumption optimization cross-functionally
Demonstrated experiencing leading analog and power system architecture, charging architecture, chipset selection, and system integration for the battery powered product
Experience creating power models to estimate battery day of use, power circuit design, simulation, validation, and characterization across multiple products, ensuring their successful delivery
Proficiency in generating design documentation, perform schematic capture and power delivery network simulation both pre and post board layout, prototype bring-up, and design validation
Effective at root-cause analysis and problem solving technical issues during new product development and support in-field escalations
Experience working closely with CM/JDM (Contract Manufacturer / Joint Development Manufacturer) resources to leverage their engineers and maximize the focus of internal resources on adding value to and differentiating our product
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as industrial design, architecture, product design and supply chain
Experience evaluating and enabling innovative solutions for cost, size, efficiency, safety, and reliability
