As a summer 2026 engineering student intern with Olsson's Distribution and Transmission team, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. You could contribute to the intricate network of poles and wires crisscrossing the skies. Or assist with designing the robust, high-powered substations that are vital to our communities. Our work involves more than just improving the visual landscape; we upgrade electrical systems to meet future energy demands. From conception to completion, our skilled engineers and technicians bring these essential projects to life.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist with project design using AutoCAD
  • Perform research
  • Write technical reports
  • Travel to job sites for observation

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical, civil or mechanical engineering
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and math skills
