Job Description

The Power BI Engineer role at NTT DATA involves designing and troubleshooting data engineering workloads while managing the Power BI platform. This role requires a senior, hands-on professional with deep experience in data engineering and the Power BI platform. The ideal candidate will design, build, and troubleshoot scalable analytics and data engineering workloads while operating in large, regulated environments.

Job Responsibility

  • Support and manage the Power BI platform at the enterprise level, enabling analytics across multiple business units
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex Power BI issues, including report performance, semantic models, gateways, and data connectivity
  • Design, build, and maintain semantic data models optimized for performance, reusability, and governed access
  • Perform performance troubleshooting across Power BI reports, datasets, gateways, and underlying data sources
  • Maintain and enhance enterprise Power BI frameworks supporting automation, version upgrades, and visualization standards
  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot data engineering workloads, including batch and streaming pipelines
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and automation using Python, PowerShell, and Power Automate
  • Manage and automate Power BI Gateway deployments across large hybrid environments
  • Troubleshoot and optimize data connectivity across relational, cloud, and analytical data sources (including Snowflake)
  • Ensure secure handling of sensitive and confidential data using established encryption, access control, and compliance practices
  • Apply architecture-aligned design principles to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and adaptable over time
  • Work effectively in large-scale, multi-team environments, translating business requirements into practical technical implementations
  • Leverage familiarity with major cloud platforms to design and support hybrid and cloud-based analytics solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering and analytics platforms
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience across the Power BI platform, including datasets, semantic modeling, gateways, performance tuning, and platform operations
  • 3+ years of scripting and automation experience using Python, PowerShell, and/or Power Automate
  • 2+ years of experience with Snowflake as a cloud analytics platform
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting data engineering workloads in enterprise environments
  • Familiarity working with major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) in hybrid or cloud-native architectures
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.

Experience operating in regulated or security-conscious environments is preferred.
