Job Description

We are seeking two experienced SC Cleared PostgreSQL DBAs to support a cloud-managed operational database environment. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring database availability, performance, and operational stability within an AWS-hosted PostgreSQL platform.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide proactive, outcome-focused DBA support for a cloud-managed PostgreSQL operational database
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of the AWS PostgreSQL database environment
  • Monitor database health and identify early indicators of performance degradation before business impact occurs
  • Monitor schemas and transient tables, identifying and performing housekeeping and cleanup activities where required
  • Optimise database performance and help prevent the accumulation of technical debt
  • Proactively identify, manage, and communicate risks and issues to minimise operational impact
  • Keep stakeholders informed of database performance, operational status, and any emerging concerns
  • Communicate data delays, performance issues, and service impacts to key stakeholders in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Strong PostgreSQL DBA experience within AWS cloud environments
  • Experience managing and supporting production operational databases
  • Proven ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise database performance
  • Experience with database maintenance, housekeeping, and capacity management
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills
  • Active SC Clearance (mandatory)
