You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where junior and senior scientists collaborate, each with their expertise, to carry out a scientific activity with a shared research goal. The Bio-logic Research unit is coordinated by Prof. Paolo Netti. The research focuses on the development of biomimetic neural microenvironments integrating tissue engineering, biomaterials, organ-on-chip technologies, and advanced biofabrication approaches to recreate physiologically relevant CNS models.
Job Responsibility
Development of advanced multicellular CNS in vitro systems and biomimetic neural microenvironments
Optimization of biomaterials, biofabrication approaches, and functional characterization techniques for disease modeling applications
Requirements
A PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biotechnologies, and similar disciplines
Documented experience with mammalian cell culture and advanced 3D in vitro systems
biomaterials and hydrogel systems for neural tissue engineering applications
fabrication techniques, including 3D printing, microfluidics, and organ-on-chip systems
molecular and cellular characterization techniques, including qPCR, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, and biochemical assays
Strong publication record
Good command of spoken and written English
Nice to have
Experience in disease modeling
Knowledge of imaging analysis software and Matlab
Ability to work in a challenging and international environment
Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
Possess Analytical Reasoning skills and a growth mindset
