We are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher and/or a senior research scientist to work in a highly collaborative project investigating RNA modifications and translation regulation in neurodegenerative diseases. Our group is investigating how the interplay between RNA damage, ribosome dysfunction, and translation dysregulation influences neuron degeneration in Parkinson’s disease. We integrate RNA Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Massively Parallel Cell Biology Assays, and transcriptomics to uncover novel mechanisms of gene expression regulation and generate new tools and methods that can be harnessed for therapeutic means. As part of the Department of Pharmacology at Northwestern University –Feinberg School of Medicine, we are surrounded by a highly collaborative and supportive environment with a wide range of translational and basic science researchers.
