A postdoctoral position is available for scientists interested in deciphering the biology of membrane proteins and ion channel physiology in the Furukawa lab at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) in New York, USA.
Job Responsibility:
Deciphering the biology of membrane proteins and ion channel physiology
Employ a combined approach that incorporates cryo-EM, crystallography, electrophysiology, imaging, protein engineering, and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations
Work on collaborative projects in cancer-neuroimmunology
Requirements:
Hold or soon expect to have (within ~0.5 yr) a Ph.D. in the area of structural biology (crystallography, cryo-EM, cryo-ET), molecular neuroscience/electrophysiology (e.g., patch-clamp electrophysiology, imaging, etc.), membrane protein biochemistry and biophysics, or immunology
Prior experience in one or more of the above is desirable
What we offer:
State-of-the-art equipment
Unique scientific environment for interacting with scientists
Prestigious CSHL courses and meetings
Lab has a solid track record of preparing postdoctoral researchers for assistant professorships in academia and equivalent roles in industry
