Job Description:

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Quantum Materials – FAPESP / CEMol (Brazil). The selected fellow will carry out activities such as controlled synthesis of materials, synthesis of epitaxial thin oxide films, structural characterization techniques (XRD), spectroscopic characterization (such as XPS, Raman, UV-Vis), time-resolved photoluminescence, AC/DC conductivity, and other electrical properties measured using PPMS. The work will also involve the analysis of quantum confinement effects, epitaxial strain, and their implications for the physical properties of the system. The researcher will also use micro- and nanofabrication techniques (FIB, electron lithography, and thin-film deposition) for device preparation and will conduct charge transport, optical, and magneto-optical studies over a wide temperature and magnetic field range.

Job Responsibility:

  • Carry out activities such as controlled synthesis of materials, synthesis of epitaxial thin oxide films, structural characterization techniques (XRD), spectroscopic characterization (such as XPS, Raman, UV-Vis), time-resolved photoluminescence, AC/DC conductivity, and other electrical properties measured using PPMS
  • Analysis of quantum confinement effects, epitaxial strain, and their implications for the physical properties of the system
  • Use micro- and nanofabrication techniques (FIB, electron lithography, and thin-film deposition) for device preparation
  • Conduct charge transport, optical, and magneto-optical studies over a wide temperature and magnetic field range

Requirements:

  • PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Engineering, or related fields
  • Previous experience in materials synthesis (preferably pulsed laser deposition epitaxy), structural characterization (with emphasis on XRD, XRR), spectroscopic characterization (XPS, Raman, UV-Vis), and experience with electronic/optical properties of perovskites
  • Familiarity with microscopy and spectroscopy techniques, charge transport studies, and experience with PPMS (or Quantum Design equipment) is considered an asset

Nice to have:

Familiarity with microscopy and spectroscopy techniques, charge transport studies, and experience with PPMS (or Quantum Design equipment)

What we offer:

Monthly stipend of R$ 12,570.00, plus 10% of the annual fellowship value as a technical reserve (RT) intended for unforeseen research expenses
