The Nanochemistry Research Line at IIT in Genoa is seeking highly motivated and talented candidates in the field of synthetic chemistry, targeting the synthesis of epitaxial interfaces in nanocrystalline materials. The candidate will be involved in the identification of novel synthesis protocols of colloidal nanocrystals for energy related applications. The synthesized nanocrystals will be characterized with a broad set of analytical tools. The candidate will interact on a regular basis with computational scientists in charge of predicting the stability and properties of such nanocrystals, and with other scientists/engineers for advanced characterization and to exploit the synthesized nanocrystals in various applications.
Job Responsibility:
Develop new methods for the synthesis of colloidal nanocrystals
Cooperate/give support with other postdocs/PhD students/undergrads on nanocrystals synthesis activities
Report to the group on the progress of your research activities and mentoring students
Requirements:
PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or a related subject
Strong background in the synthesis of colloidal nanocrystals
Expertise in nanocrystals characterization tools
Fluency in English is essential
Good practice with teamwork, group learning processes and a problem-solving attitude
A strong publication record
The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data
Nice to have:
Ability to work in a challenging and international environment
Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
