Funded by the German Research Foundation, the project enables structured postgraduate education within the research group Task-Switching Decisions and associated cognitive processes (FOR6047) and intensive exchange with experts from the fields of psychology, cognitive science and neuroscience in the area of task switching and decision-making. The Department of Performance Psychology belongs to the active research groups in the field of psychology. The working and lab language is English. The department provides several laboratories and technical support, and offers intensive supervision and training for postgraduates.
Job Responsibility:
Research on task switching decisions
Implementation of a joint research program within the research group FOR6047
Implementation of joint data and computational modeling approaches in the role of a data steward
Collaboration on cooperative research projects within FOR6047 and publication of the results in peer-reviewed scientific journals
Supervision and support for PhD students
20% of working hours for administrative tasks for the research group, in particular organizing annual meetings and assisting with the coordination of the doctoral program
Participation in the institute's self-administration
Requirements:
Completed scientific university degree (Master), preferably in psychology or cognitive science
PhD in these or related fields
Interest in experimental and, where applicable, in computational research
High motivation for scientific work in a research group
Very good written and spoken English skills
Nice to have:
Experience with experimental methods and modeling
Knowledge in the area of task-switching or decision research
Knowledge of statistics (e.g., R)
Experience with statistical programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
