The Nanotechnology for Precision Medicine research unit at Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) is seeking an outstanding postdoctoral fellow to conduct basic and translational research on novel advanced therapies and their delivery via biodegradable, implantable polymer systems for the treatment of high-grade gliomas. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of multiple disciplines, including nanotechnology, drug delivery, bioinformatics, and neurotechnology.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct basic and translational research on novel advanced therapies and their delivery via biodegradable, implantable polymer systems for the treatment of high-grade gliomas
Work in the Nanotechnology for Precision Medicine research unit
Be involved in the fabrication, in-vitro testing, and preclinical validation of biodegradable polymer depots for intracranial, sustained delivery of complex therapeutic combinations
Requirements:
A PhD in Bioengineering, Biotechnology, or related disciplines
Experience in the fabrication and characterization of drug delivery systems
Experience with mammalian cell culture and small‑scale in vivo models
Ability to design and conduct in-vitro and in-vivo experiments
Strong publication record
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to properly organize, present, and report research data in fluent English
Nice to have:
Expertise in immunology and flow cytometry
Familiarity with orthotopic brain tumor models
Strong motivation to learn new techniques and methodologies
Ability to work independently in a diverse and collaborative research environment
