United Response is seeking a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our Health and Wellbeing Team. Do you have the knowledge and experience to support our operational colleagues to embed and promote Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) across our services, including those within the Transforming Care agenda? The PBS team operates an internal referral system through which caseloads are allocated. The successful candidate will work across the geographical area specified and will be responsible for managing a caseload of individuals referred through this system. The role includes conducting functional assessments and leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans to enhance quality of life. In addition, the postholder will promote accessible PBS practices, build the competence of support teams, and deliver training, workshops, and debrief sessions. The individual will also contribute to the wider responsibilities of PBS practice across the organisation.
Job Responsibility:
Managing a caseload of individuals referred through an internal referral system
Conducting functional assessments and leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans to enhance quality of life
Promoting accessible PBS practices, building the competence of support teams, and delivering training, workshops, and debrief sessions
Contributing to the wider responsibilities of PBS practice across the organisation
Requirements:
Formal PBS-related qualification (e.g., BTEC Diploma in PBS or BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, MSc Applied Behaviour Analysis or Positive Behaviour Support)
Experience supporting people with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism within adult social care settings who display behaviours of concern
Experience completing behavioural assessments within a PBS framework and reducing the use of restrictive practices
Strong experience and knowledge of PBS principles and related evidence-based approaches such as Active Support, Person-Centred Planning and Total Communication
Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and external professionals
Confident working independently, managing a caseload through providing clear advice and guidance
Experience delivering training, facilitating practice, coaching teams, or leading debriefs (preferred)
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally
