We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled PoS Support Engineer to support and maintain the organization’s Point of Sale (PoS) production environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring system health, troubleshooting production issues, supporting deployments, and ensuring high availability and performance of PoS systems across retail operations. The role also requires exposure to modern IT operations, automation, and AI-driven support technologies to enhance incident management, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Monitor and resolve PoS production issues within defined SLA timelines
Perform system diagnostics, configuration changes, patches, and application support activities
Support deployment, testing, and rollout of PoS application updates and enhancements
Maintain the stability and performance of PoS hardware, software, and related infrastructure
Analyze application logs and transaction failures to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
Coordinate with infrastructure, network, database, security, and application teams for issue resolution
Maintain operational documentation, incident records, and change management updates
Perform preventive maintenance, health checks, and system monitoring activities
Support integrations between PoS systems, payment solutions, ERP, and backend applications
Participate in DR drills, migration activities, and production readiness validations
Ensure compliance with internal IT security, operational, and audit standards
Contribute to automation and operational improvement initiatives

Troubleshooting
Strong experience with Windows Server and Desktop operating systems
Good understanding of retail PoS architecture and production support environments
Hands-on experience with PoS hardware including terminals, scanners, receipt printers, and payment devices
Basic SQL knowledge for transaction validation and troubleshooting
Understanding of networking concepts including IP addressing, VPN, switches, and firewall basics
Experience with remote monitoring, incident management, and system administration tools
Basic scripting knowledge using PowerShell or Batch scripting is preferred
Experience supporting retail or enterprise PoS environments
Familiarity with ITIL-based incident and change management processes
Knowledge of PoS integration with ERP, payment gateway, or back-office applications
Exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments is an advantage
Nice to have:
Basic understanding of AI-assisted monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Familiarity with log analysis, alert correlation, and operational analytics concepts
Exposure to automation tools and scripting for operational efficiency
Awareness of AI-driven IT operations (AIOps) and predictive monitoring concepts will be an added advantage
