Job Responsibility:
Deliver engaging and effective instruction across the Portuguese primary curriculum, aligned with national educational guidelines
Plan and execute dynamic lessons that meet the diverse academic and developmental needs of students
Take responsibility for the homeroom class, supporting students’ academic progress, well-being, and personal development
Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessment, maintaining high academic standards
Provide pastoral support and work closely with the school’s well-being and support teams
Encourage student participation in co-curricular activities, projects, and enrichment opportunities
Contribute to curriculum development and whole-school improvement initiatives
Maintain a positive classroom environment with high expectations for behaviour and learning
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and support professional development goals
Engage parents and guardians through regular, effective communication regarding student progress
Stay up to date with educational developments and participate in ongoing professional learning
Requirements:
A relevant degree in Education (Portuguese Primary Education) and a recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching at primary level, ideally in an international or bilingual school context
Strong understanding of the Portuguese curriculum and effective homeroom practice
Ability to inspire and engage young learners, supporting both academic and personal growth
Strong skills in differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families
Experience using technology and innovative teaching approaches to enhance learning
Commitment to continuous professional development
A strong understanding of safeguarding and student welfare practices
