Job Description

Support GM China in market and competitive analysis, NEV portfolio planning, and content preparation, while exploring AI-based tools and models to improve forecasting and daily work efficiency.

Job Responsibility

  • Collect, organize, and analyze industry and market data for the China automotive and NEV market, with focus on local OEMs
  • Monitor and summarize business environment and policy developments (regulation, technology, social and economic trends)
  • Track new product and technology launches, including key specs and implications for GM's portfolio
  • Maintain and update competitor product databases and new car launch tracking sheets
  • Prepare materials for portfolio planning meetings and auto shows (presentations, reports, meeting notes)
  • Collect and translate industry news into concise updates for global stakeholders
  • Explore and prototype AI applications (e.g., for news summarization, data processing, benchmarking, NEV long-term forecasting, and visualization) and document key learnings

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's student at a top university in Automotive, Engineering, Economics, Business, Data Science, Statistics, or related fields
  • Available at least 3 days per week for 3+ months (6 months preferred)
  • Strong analytical ability, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • high drive for results and willingness to learn
  • Excellent computer skills, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • basic data visualization a plus
  • Clear English and Mandarin communication, written and verbal
  • Preferred: basic experience with data analysis or AI tools (e.g., Python/R/SQL/BI or generative AI for text/data tasks) and interest in AI model and prompt exploration
  • Preferred: video clipping / basic video editing skills and creativity in presenting insights
