Are you a skilled Portfolio Planning & Controls Analyst looking for your next long term contract? We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with a background in engineering, utilities, energy sector experience to join a major organisation for a 12-month engagement. You will play a pivotal role in strengthening PMO practices by providing integrated portfolio and control services, ensuring large-scale transformational projects are delivered successfully within cost and scope parameters.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage integrated portfolio schedules, ensuring alignment with program schedules and maintaining rigorous re-baselining governance
  • Oversee dependency registers to monitor cross-program and external dependencies while maintaining a confirmed portfolio milestone roadmap
  • Conduct portfolio resource capacity and utilisation analysis to support effective resource planning across the organisation
  • Assure portfolio and schedule data integrity through regular reconciliations, QA sign-offs, and maintained data standards
  • Deliver Power BI enhancements and monthly KPI dashboards to provide clear visibility into portfolio performance

Requirements:

  • A Diploma in Project Management or Business coupled with significant experience in an engineering, transmission utility, or IT environment
  • Proven expertise in planning and scheduling, including milestone management and critical path analysis
  • Strong knowledge of diverse project management methodologies such as PMBOK, Agile, and Waterfall
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft tools, specifically MS Project, Excel, and Visio
  • Demonstrated experience in independent assurance or oversight roles within large, complex transformational programs

  • Identify project execution’s root causes and their mitigation plan, identify risk and opportunities, develop project business case, gain stakeholder alignment and recommend prioritization of solutions for projects assigned to the portfolio
  • Develop, track and report on project achievements and tasks in close collaboration with assigned teams (incl. Finances, Planning, Operations, Program, Engineering and Methods)
  • Coordinate and lead the executive portfolio governance of Bombardier’s Planning and Methods team, used to identify risks & opportunities, develop/optimize project business cases, accelerate project execution and foster alignment to project scope and results

  • Coordinate between all teams the activities to establish and maintain the roadmap for inventory reduction projects aligned with corporate mandates, including their business case development, their approval and execution kick-off within the strategic project portfolio
  • Coordinate activities pertaining to the evaluation of the list of production support initiatives as well as their prioritization based on amongst others their operational benefits, criticality and maturity, ensure the coordination of the quarterly re-evaluation and re-prioritization of this list, and ensure the monitoring of retained projects’ approval and execution
  • Coordinate the human resources management process optimization for the Bombardier Planning and Methods team, including the identification of risk and opportunities on a 5 year horizon, the analysis of their impact and their reporting at executive level
