Job Description:

Taking on the role of Portfolio Manager with our Global Network Banking (GNB) business, your focus will be to provide banking services to subsidiaries of CIB customers, delivering consistent, in-depth and dedicated coverage across the HSBC network with the goal of deepening our existing client relationships. In doing so, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, whose headquarters bank with HSBC in other countries, targeting superior customer service and upselling to improve revenue growth.

Job Responsibility:

  • Developing effective strategies to manage customer relationships, anticipating customer needs and providing a superior quality service to position HSBC as the market leader in this segment
  • Delivering a high quality service by owning customer engagement, striving for excellence in all interactions with customers or other professionals, and always acting according to the highest professional standards
  • Establishing a close working relationship with the HSBC Compliance team and effectively managing AML risks
  • Onboarding new facility clients and conducting annual reviews to ensure credit risks are effectively managed
  • Growing sustainable revenues from the existing customer portfolio and through targeted onboarding of new customers
  • Working collaboratively with other Global Businesses, Product and Service Partners to identify opportunities to connect customers to opportunities and strengthen existing relationships

Requirements:

  • Current experience in a customer facing role, ideally in corporate and institutional banking, dedicated to providing superior customer service to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Strong analytical skills with a strong commercial orientation and experience writing credit papers and conducting financial analysis
  • Portfolio management experience with the ability to build strong and lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders through excellent written and verbal communication skills and confident interpersonal skills
  • Some knowledge of HSBC CIB products and services would be an advantage
  • Knowledge and understanding of customer due diligence processes
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously without supervision
  • A tertiary qualification in finance, accounting or a relevant discipline

Nice to have:

Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations
