Job Description:

Lead the financial management of a portfolio of wind energy projects in Japan, building a new in-house team and collaborating with global stakeholders. You will be the driving force behind the financial success of a portfolio of wind energy projects in Japan. You'll work closely with various teams, both locally and in our Chicago headquarters, managing financial performance, mitigating risks, and building a new in-house portfolio management team. You will play a key role in liaising with lenders, investors, and other stakeholders, ensuring smooth operations and compliance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the financial management of a portfolio of wind energy projects in Japan
  • Build a new in-house team and collaborate with global stakeholders
  • Lead project finance loan closings and manage loan draw requests and payments
  • Manage consent and waiver requests from lenders and consultants
  • Monitor asset performance and compliance with loan covenants
  • Review and update project budgets and forecasts
  • Prepare financial and progress reports for lenders and senior management
  • Negotiate with local stakeholders (lenders, asset managers, insurance companies, etc.)
  • Ensure regulatory compliance
  • Grow and lead a local portfolio management team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in finance management, asset management, or a related role in a multinational company or financial institution
  • Proven experience working directly with lenders and investors
  • Expertise in financial modeling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Fluent in Japanese and English (written and spoken)
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience in the renewable energy industry is a plus
  • CFA, CTP, or CPA equivalent qualification is a plus
