The Portfolio Credit Risk Management 2nd LOD Sr. Analyst is a role within the Second Line of Defense (2nd LOD) risk organization. The role applies in-depth specialty knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing, and evaluating credit risk across portfolios — with a specific focus on Wealth Wholesale Structured Products. This role integrates established disciplinary knowledge within credit risk management. The Sr. Analyst demonstrates good judgment in navigating risk scenarios, interacts cross-functionally with business partners, and contributes meaningfully to the overall risk governance framework.
Job Responsibility
Support the preparation of portfolio discussions and monitoring activities for Wealth Wholesale Structured Products, including the development of materials for risk forum meetings, senior management reviews, and periodic portfolio monitoring
Monitor and assess credit risk trends, concentrations, and emerging risks within the Wealth Wholesale Structured Products portfolio, providing timely and actionable insights to senior risk officers and business stakeholders
Support the maintenance of credit risk monitoring frameworks, including supplemental monitoring metrics
Interpret financial data, credit metrics, and portfolio analytics to support risk identification, assessment, and escalation processes
Collect, organize, and maintain Manager's Control Assessment (MCA) evidence, ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with internal control standards and regulatory expectations
Assist in the execution of MCA testing activities, tracking control gaps, remediation actions, and evidence submissions in a timely and structured manner
Maintain and keep up to date the team's project tracker, a project management tool shared with senior management that consolidates all ongoing projects and recurrent activities, including target dates, milestones, and status updates
ensure the tracker accurately reflects current progress and is a reliable reference for prioritization and senior management visibility
Collaborate with Credit Officers, Product Managers, Risk Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on credit risk standards and portfolio management objectives
Requirements
3–5 years of experience in credit risk management, portfolio risk analysis, financial analysis, or a related discipline within a financial institution
prior exposure to a risk oversight or control function is a plus
familiarity with Wealth Management or Wholesale Structured Products is an advantage, though candidates with broader credit risk or financial products experience will be considered
exposure to Manager's Control Assessment (MCA) processes, internal control documentation, or compliance/audit evidence collection is preferred
willingness to learn and develop expertise in this area is equally valued
experience maintaining project trackers, task logs, or similar organizational tools (e.g., Excel, SharePoint, or equivalent platforms)
demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously
foundational understanding of credit risk principles, financial analysis, and portfolio monitoring concepts
knowledge credit risk frameworks is a plus
ability to interpret financial data, credit metrics, and portfolio analytics to support risk identification and reporting
strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and reporting tools
clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
self-starter with the ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned tasks, and proactively flag issues or delays
Bachelor's/University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required
Master's degree or professional certification is a plus
