Job Description

Portfolio Accountant with strong knowledge of financial instruments and portfolio accounting principles responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records for investment portfolios, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of portfolio performance, account reconciliation, and working closely with investment managers, operations teams, and auditors to support financial integrity and performance analysis of investment funds.

Job Responsibility

  • Maintain accounting records for assigned investment portfolios including equities, fixed income, alternatives, and other asset classes
  • Reconcile cash, underwriting, purchasing, and portfolio valuations
  • Calculate performance metrics
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers on compliance measures
  • Review and enter journal entries
  • Assist in preparation of client reports, financial statements, and investor communications
  • Reviewing lease agreements
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of portfolio performance
  • Support financial integrity and performance analysis of investment funds

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related studies
  • 3+ years of public accounting experience
  • Real Estate industry experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Yardi preferred
  • Strong knowledge of financial instruments and portfolio accounting principles
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Great research abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of industry trends and compliance updates
