The Porter position is responsible for the delivery, maintaining, stocking, cleaning and ensuring that there is a sufficient supply of products in the venue. Services to include assistance in setting up and/or breaking down functions periodically or as needed.
Job Responsibility:
Washes all china, glass, and silverware
Cleans all equipment, pots, and pans pre, during, and post-event
Stores all equipment in proper locations
Sweeps and mop all floors in the kitchen/office areas
Maintains a clean and safe working environment
Practices safe work habits, follows all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, completes company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training
Transports food and equipment throughout the venue as needed
Monitors cleaning supply stock levels per venue needs
Ensures that assigned areas are kept clean and orderly
Performs and assists with routine inventory on a daily basis of all required stock per area of responsibility
Ensures that requisitions are delivered in a timely manner
Assists with deliveries and stocking storeroom and side stations
Assists members in a timely, efficient and professional manner
Fulfills the assigned opening and closing duties as assigned by the Chef
Performs other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to read, speak and write English in order to communicate with staff and guests
Ability to work all venue events and maintain a flexible schedule to meet service demand levels, including extended hours, days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to work in an open aired environment during all climate conditions
Must be punctual and dependable
Must maintain personal hygiene and a well-groomed appearance in accordance with company and venue standards
Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including constant standing, reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds
Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette preferred
Ability to effectively listen and take direction from management
Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting
