The Stephanie Gilpin Community Swimming Pool in Macy, Nebraska is seeking two (2) highly motivated, self-directed individuals to join our summer pool staff as Pool Manager. Employees in this position are responsible for assisting with the maintenance and operation of the pool and complete oversight of the lifeguards, daily schedules, and daily operations. These candidates must be certified in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid & CPR for the Professional Rescuer, or able to pass the certification requirements. These candidates will supervise the Stephanie Gilpin Community Swimming Pool and surrounding areas. The pool is open daily during the summer pool season and candidates must be available to work days, nights, weekends, and Holidays, ensuring at least one manager is on site, at all times.
Job Responsibility:
Supervise the Lifeguard Staff, Lifeguard Schedules, and Daily Operations
Assumes responsibility of assigning daily tasks and lifeguard duty rotations to the lifeguard team, including oneself in the task and rotation schedule
Plans and provides for trainings, team meetings, and activities with the lifeguard staff
Maintains constant watch for accidents or potential accidents at the pool
Takes the lead in providing first aid assistance in case of accident
Enforces rules regarding appropriate pool conduct, warning patrons against hazardous practices such as running, shallow water diving, and flipping from pool edges
Responsible for quality pool discipline, including contacting parents of minors who break pool rules to a high degree and/or are expelled from the pool
Able to work respectfully with supervisor and lifeguarding staff
Responds to community members questions and concerns in a courteous manner
Maintains records, reports and information regarding daily water chemistry, weather conditions, and incidents or accidents
Report the need for any repairs, assist with minor pool maintenance work and repairs, and maintain a safe area until repairs can be made
Reports needs for pool supplies
Performs 90% of work outside in varying summer weather conditions
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience as a lifeguard is preferred but not required
Supervisory experience is preferred
Successful completion of American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid & CPR for the Professional Rescuer certifications
Must be certified in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid & CPR for the Professional Rescuer, or able to pass the certification requirements
Nice to have:
Experience as a lifeguard is preferred but not required
