Job Description:

Seasonal Pool & Beach Attendant position at The Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Papagayo, Costa Rica. Responsible for maintaining pool and beach areas, promoting guest safety and enjoyment, serving food and beverages, and delivering the luxury service standards of The Ritz-Carlton brand.

Job Responsibility:

  • Washing, mopping, and cleaning the pool deck and beach area
  • Promote a fun and relaxing environment for guests
  • Observe activity and respond appropriately in emergencies
  • Promote rules and regulations of the recreational facility
  • Identify unsafe guest situations and report to supervisor
  • Provide first aid assistance to injured guests
  • Obtain, fold and stack towels, lounge chairs, umbrellas and tables
  • Serve food, dishes, and alcoholic beverages
  • Give menu recommendations and answer questions
  • Communicate with F&B service and kitchen about menu queries
  • Handle dietary needs, allergies and special requests
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions
  • Complete safety training and certifications
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Maintain professional appearance
  • Protect company assets and confidential information
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests
  • Assist individuals with disabilities
  • Develop positive working relationships
  • Comply with quality standards
  • Use computers and point of sale systems

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • No related work experience
  • No supervisory experience
  • CPR Certification
  • First Aid Certification
  • Fitness Equipment certification
  • Any certification or training required by local and state agencies
  • Ability to wash, mop, and clean pool deck and beach area
  • Ability to promote fun and relaxing environment
  • Ability to observe activity and respond appropriately in emergencies
  • Knowledge of facility rules and regulations
  • Ability to identify unsafe guest situations
  • Ability to provide first aid assistance
  • Ability to obtain, fold and stack towels, lounge chairs, umbrellas and tables
  • Ability to serve food, dishes, and alcoholic beverages
  • Ability to communicate menu queries and wait times
