JOB TITLE: Pool Attendant\n\nPOSITION REPORTS TO: Assistant General Manager\n\nJOB SUMMARY:\n\nTo supervise the use of the indoor and outdoor pools for the enjoyment of guests and owners.\n\nBeachfront resort on Atlantic Beach seeking energetic team members to tend to multiple swimming pools and hot tubs on our property to ensure the safe, fun use of the facilities. THIS IS NOT A LIFEGUARD POSITION. Daily activities will include maintaining the cleanliness of lounge furniture and restrooms at the pools, keeping the pool areas generally tidy, and reminding vacationers to follow posted pool rules. Attendants may also assist the Recreation Team with facilitating activities in the pool area. Multiple shifts available ranging from 9:30am start to 10:00pm end.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nArrive 10 minutes before the shift begins.\nPrepare pool areas for guest use by cleaning and tidying tables and chairs.\nCheck to ensure that all pool tubes are properly inflated.\nKeep pool tubes stacked by slide stairs when not in use.\nPerform setup and take down of umbrellas at beginning and/or end of shift.\nClean and maintain the pool area and restrooms throughout the shift.\nDevelop and maintain a friendly relationship with owners and guests.\nMonitor guests and owners using pools for recreation wristbands.\nRemind guests and owners of pool rules when needed.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nPERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:\n\nHigh energy level, fun-loving attitude; comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities. Must be well organized and motivated. Ability to get along with diverse personalities – tactful, honest, mature, responsible and courteous. Has ability to deal tactfully and professionally with owners, guests, board members, and public. Must stay focused on activities taking place and maintain order for the safety and comfort of guests and owners. Must have ability to meet and maintain personal cleanliness and hygiene standards as set forth in the Employee Handbook.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for indefinite periods of time, use hands, talk, hear, and smell. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, stand, stoop, kneel, climb or balance, crouch, bend or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The employee must be able to walk several hundred yards at a time, from the resort office to the courtyard recreation area.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\n\nThe work environment is mainly outdoors. The walking surface may be wet and slippery. Must be comfortable working in direct sun, heat or inclement weather for sustained periods of time.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\n\nAbility to understand and speak fluent English.\nAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.\nBackground check will be completed as a condition of employment.\nMust be dependable and be able to work with out constant supervision.\nMust be comfortable around various individuals (including children) and be tolerant of heat.\nAbility to learn quickly and work in fast-paced position.\nAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
