The Pollution Control Officer ensures the project meets all local, national, and environmental regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure compliance with local and national environmental regulations, specifically in air, water, and noise pollution control
Coordinate with the Company E&S Manager in conducting environmental impact assessments and audits by a third party and/or local authorities to identify potential risks and areas for improvement, including environmental compliance requirements
Prepare and submit required environmental reports and permits to regulatory authorities
Develop and implement pollution control strategies and action plans to minimize environmental impact
Implement regular monitoring emissions, effluent, and waste management systems to ensure they are within regulatory limits
Provide training to staff on environmental policies and pollution control measures
Promote awareness on waste minimization, energy conservation, and eco-friendly practices
Investigate and respond to environmental incidents or violations, implementing corrective actions
Coordinate in developing and maintaining emergency response procedures for environmental hazards with the Company E&S Manager
Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and all stakeholders to ensure strict compliance and proper monitoring of Environment Management Plan
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Electrical Engineering
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc)
Knowledgeable of Philippine Environmental Laws and Regulations (e.g., Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, etc), including permitting process and requirements for discharge permit, emmission testing, as well compliances with ECC conditions
Technically knowledgeable and competent in pollution control, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance
Environmental monitoring and reporting skills including familiarity with the reporting process and requirements with DENR-EMB
Experience in pollution prevention and waste management
Must be a certified Pollution Control Officer with completed 40-hour Basic PCO training course
Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) and Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) certifications an added advantage
English, and Ilonggo (local dialect)
