Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for Poling Operatives to join our South Wales Team. As a Poling Operative, you will be responsible for Installation and removal of poles, including dressing new poles covering the South Wales region. This is an entry level Position and all training will be provided. This is a subcontracting opportunity and our course will start on 23.2.2026.

Job Responsibility:

  • Replace decayed, damaged, or defective poles in the Openreach network
  • Install new poles to support customer connections
  • Ensure all work meets client specifications and safety standards
  • Maintain driving standards and legal compliance
  • Adhere to Health & Safety legislation and company/client policies

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure
  • Professional communication skills
  • Organised, self-motivated, and achievement-oriented
  • Basic computer literacy

Nice to have:

  • Experience working in the Openreach network
  • Groundworks or civils experience
  • IPAF 1B
  • NPORS N107 or equivalent
  • Full NRSWA Streetworks operative-level qualification
  • 360 Excavator operation
  • PASMA certification
What we offer:

Training is paid at a rate of £90 – £105 per day

  • Operate battery/gas powered or pneumatic equipment, such as a chainsaw
  • Operate excavating equipment, as well as boats, snowmobiles, and ATVs to reach undeveloped sites and adapt to necessary terrain
  • Set up materials on site to make them available to Line Technicians
  • Concrete/masonry work, rough carpentry, landscaping, tree trimming, as required
  • Follow equipment maintenance schedule and advise if repair is required
