Job Description:

Areeva is actively looking for a Full-time Policy/Legislative Analyst to provide policy analysis support to federal executives. This position will support the Senior Leadership at HHS/ASFR/OG and also, GrantSolutions, which is an organization within the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Grants (OG). This role requires 5+ years of experience in policy analysis and executive support and emphasizes excellent problem-solving skills, effective written and verbal communication, and attention to detail.

Job Responsibility:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders for input, communicate policy implications, and ensure legal alignment
  • Analyze existing and proposed policies, legislation, and regulations to assess their impact
  • Advocate for policy and operational changes benefiting OG/GS in policy discussions
  • Assist in developing and implementing IT policies, aligning with objectives and legal requirements
  • Ensure organizational compliance with relevant IT policies, laws, and regulations
  • Monitor legislative and policy developments
  • report changes and potential implications
  • Prepare and distribute weekly project status reports
  • manage logistics for workgroups
  • Prepare the leader for meetings by developing fact sheets, status reports, talking points, and briefing books
  • Draft and edit emails on behalf of the executive
  • Conduct research for accurate talking points and speeches
  • offer ongoing briefings on project deliverables
  • Provide C-suite level support to Senior Executive, keeping them informed of activities
  • Assist in coordinating special projects
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize tasks
  • Serve as a sounding board to executives on policy initiatives and committee meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communication, Behavioral Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a Policy/Legislative Analyst or in a federal policy support role
  • Strong Federal contracting and government policy analysis experience
  • Proficient in conducting thorough research and preparing comprehensive reports
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, supported by writing samples
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and a fast learner
  • collaborative team player
  • Availability to work one to two days a week at the federal client office in Washington, DC
  • Candidates must have resided in the United States for three consecutive years out of the last five years
  • U.S. Citizenship or Green Card
