Job Responsibility

  • Supporting the Head of Policy & Standards in overseeing the work of the department
  • Leading the development and implementation of a range of strategic policy and standards projects
  • Supervising and coaching direct reports and team members
  • Effectively engaging and communicating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Undertaking research to support members of Council and the senior leadership team when needed
  • Continuously monitoring risks within the policy department and wider organisation, escalating if necessary
  • Representing the HCPC at external events and collaborating with the Communications Department to maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of policy and public affairs with the ability to develop clear reports and strategic policy positions
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at various levels of seniority
  • Experience in leadership and coaching direct reports
