Job Description:

You will design and execute a strategic plan to advance the digital economy in India, with a focus on partnerships across the country and regional implementation. Through structured, scalable collaborations with governments, public institutions, trade associations, non-profits, and small-to-medium business (SMB) stakeholders, you will help users and businesses, especially small businesses and entrepreneurs, leverage technology for economic growth and opportunity. You will lead key external relationships, identify emerging opportunities for collaboration and research on economic policy, and ensure Meta’s initiatives are responsive to regional economic priorities and policy contexts. Internally, you will work closely with policy, communications, marketing, and research teams to align strategies with Meta’s broader public policy goals on economic empowerment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to advance Meta’s policy programs and campaigns focused on economic impact across India
  • Identify, prioritize, and nurture partnerships with government agencies, industry bodies, and regional economic institutions to support economic opportunity, innovation, and small business enablement goals
  • Monitor economic policy developments and advise internal teams on opportunities and risks related to the digital economy
  • Design and manage programmatic partnerships with governments, academics, trade associations, and civil society organizations that support economic growth and opportunity through technology
  • Negotiate partnership structures, define shared objectives, and establish governance mechanisms and performance indicators for collaborations focused on economic impact
  • Maintain meaningful, trust-based relationships with external partners, serving as a primary point of contact for economic programs
  • Co-create and adapt Meta’s economic opportunity, innovation, and digital upskilling programs for implementation, tailored to local economic contexts
  • Lead end-to-end execution of programs and pilots, including scoping, partner onboarding, implementation, monitoring, and iteration, focusing on demonstrable economic outcomes
  • Oversee research initiatives and pilots with partners to generate insights, data, and case studies that inform policy and program improvements related to the digital economy
  • Represent Meta in dialogues, working groups, and public forums with policymakers, regulators, economists, and civil society on topics such as economic impact, innovation policy, and support for SMBs
  • Convene and participate in multi-stakeholder discussions to identify new areas for collaboration and advance shared policy objectives on the digital economy
  • Work with internal policy, communications, marketing, and research teams to align economic strategies with Meta’s national and global policy priorities
  • Lead the creation of communications, educational, and marketing materials tailored to stakeholders and audiences to showcase economic impact
  • Drive the ideation, planning, and execution of events, campaigns, and collateral (e.g., workshops, trainings, convenings) that showcase economic impact and strengthen partnerships

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Economics, Public Affairs, Communications, or a related field
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in public policy, public affairs, or related fields, with demonstrated exposure to economic policymaking or implementation in India
  • Proven experience building and managing partnerships with governments, trade associations, or economic institutions
  • Experience deploying policy or public interest programs in India, with a focus on economic opportunity, digital economy, or SMB enablement
  • Experience drafting internal and external materials on economic policy issues for broad audiences
  • Proven project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple, fast-moving, high-priority initiatives
  • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships across all levels of seniority, both internally and externally
  • Knowledge of economic policy and innovation issues relevant to India
