This role will support the delivery of a range of policy, strategy, and equalities projects that contribute to the Council’s corporate priorities. You will work across services to help ensure projects are delivered effectively, on time, and within scope, including those involving resident engagement and public participation. You will contribute to the development of policy and strategy to address key social, economic, and environmental challenges in Haringey, using data, research, and evidence to inform decision-making. You will assist with reviewing Cabinet and committee reports, support the completion of Equality Impact Assessments (EqIAs) and help ensure equalities considerations are embedded across council activity. You will also use data and insight to inform policy design and evaluate outcomes, while supporting the development of effective and consistent policy-making approaches across the organisation. The role requires close collaboration with colleagues, senior stakeholders and external partners, as well as producing clear and high-quality written outputs such as briefings, reports, and policy papers.

Requirements:
Experience in policy and strategy development, ideally within the public sector or a complex organisation
Understanding of the Public Sector Equality Duty and experience supporting Equality Impact Assessments
Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to use data to inform decision-making
Ability to manage competing priorities and contribute to multiple projects effectively
Experience of (or interest in) project management and delivery
Knowledge of, or interest in, public participation and resident engagement approaches
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues with tact and professionalism
Experience working with a range of stakeholders, including senior managers and, ideally, elected members
Good understanding of local government issues and policy environments
