This role is critical to protecting Queensland's children and young people. You will be an Individual Contributor responsible for assessing employment screening applications under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000.
Job Responsibility:
Risk Assessment: Apply legislative knowledge and legal experience to conduct risk assessments always focusing on the best interests of children and young people
Assessment & Analysis: Undertake in-depth analysis of file information and review evidence to support recommendations regarding blue card eligibility
Legal/Procedural Advice: Provide crucial advice on the screening provisions to internal and external stakeholders
Case Management: Efficiently and timely manage files, ensuring appropriate prioritisation of matters
Requirements:
Hold a university degree (undergraduate and/or postgraduate) from a recognised tertiary institution in one of the following disciplines: Law
Social Work
Human Services or Social Welfare
Psychology or Behavioural Science
Must have or be able to quickly acquire a sound knowledge of the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000
Nice to have:
Experience in administrative law, criminal law, child protection, domestic and family violence, mental health, or drug and alcohol abuse
