PMO Lead - Major Infrastructure Programme Location: Dartford (Hybrid - 3 days on-site, Tuesday to Thursday) Rate: £650 per day (Outside IR35) Duration: 12 to 18-month contract A Tier 1 construction firm is seeking an expert PMO Lead to establish and manage a critical, multi-million-pound programme. This isn't a maintenance role; we require an architect who can design the governance framework from the ground up and drive the operational rhythm to ensure delivery excellence. You will act as the conscience of the programme, providing the executive team with the transparent data and insights needed to make high-stakes strategic decisions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Define and embed the PMO operating model, including governance standards, reporting cycles, and quality assurance frameworks
  • Develop and oversee complex, multi-workstream schedules, ensuring all dependencies and critical paths are visible and managed
  • Lead the identification and mitigation of Risks, Issues, Assumptions, and Dependencies, facilitating weekly forums to drive proactive resolution
  • Track programme expenditure and resource allocation, providing trended forecasts and Plan-on-a-Page summaries for senior leadership
  • Produce high-quality Board-level packs and dashboard reporting that translates technical progress into clear executive narratives
  • Manage the rigorous assessment and documentation of programme changes, ensuring all impacts on cost and time are captured

Requirements:

  • Proven track record working within a Tier 1 construction, large-scale manufacturing environment
  • Highly proficient in Primavera P6 or MS Project
  • Ability to engage at the Director and Board level, simplifying complex data for non-technical stakeholders
