Job Description

PMLD Teaching Assistant – Waterlooville. Location: Waterlooville, Hampshire. Pay: £93 per day. Start Date: September 2026. Pink Tile Education are working in partnership with a specialist SEND school in the Waterlooville area, seeking a dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join their experienced team. This well-established and highly supportive setting caters for pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The school is known for its nurturing approach, excellent staff support, and commitment to ensuring every pupil can access learning in a safe and engaging environment. You will be working within a small class team, supporting pupils with complex needs including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and communication difficulties. A strong emphasis is placed on sensory learning, communication, and life skills development. This is a highly rewarding role where no two days are the same, and where you will play a key part in supporting pupils' independence, dignity, and wellbeing.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with PMLD
  • Assist with personal care routines (including feeding, toileting, and changing)
  • Support pupils with sensory activities and communication strategies
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Help create a calm, safe, and engaging learning environment

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
