Job Description:

We are looking for a Plumber to join our prestigious site in Bournemouth. To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance, & occasional new upgrades to the Mechanical & Plumbing Services on a large Commercial office site in Bournemouth.

Job Responsibility:

  • To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance, & occasional new upgrades to the Mechanical & Plumbing Services on a large Commercial office site
  • To carry out PPM in accordance with set schedules
  • Adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements
  • To ensure onsite Quality Assurance procedures are adhered, particularly Water Legionella management
  • To respond in a prompt and effective manner to all mechanical & plumbing related reactive maintenance issues, and help desk requests
  • To co-ordinate initial actions associated with requests from the client
  • To co-ordinate visiting specialist sub-contractors associated with mechanical & plumbing aspects of the PPM schedules
  • To respond to call outs and cover breakdowns and emergencies associated with the mechanical & plumbing aspects of the PPM schedules
  • Repair, replace and installation of mechanical & plumbing systems and Services
  • Assist other trades as necessary
  • To attend monthly site meetings as required
  • To provide reports in relation to work and equipment as required
  • To undertake miscellaneous duties as requested by the Client
  • To proactively work towards the growth of the contract into other service provisions

Requirements:

  • City & Guilds, NVQ L2
  • Driving License
  • Experience with large commercial site plumbing systems
  • Experience with working with a wide variety of plumbing & mechanical equipment
  • Confidence and commitment to providing a high quality, professional service
  • Good PC, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and take responsibility for the completion of tasks
  • Ability to prioritise work tasks
  • Adaptable and flexible in approach to work required
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Willingness and ability to work as a member of a team
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Reliable

  • GCSE (or ‘O’ Level equivalent) passes in Math's and English

  • Measure distances, set elevations and install pipe to grade as defined in drawings and specifications
  • Practices preventive maintenance of plumbing tools and equipment
  • Procures materials, tools and rental equipment at specified times to conform to work schedules
  • Confers with supervisory personnel, owners, engineers, contractors, inspectors, material suppliers and/or equipment dealers to resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints or construction problems
