Mountjoy Ltd is seeking a conscientious and enthusiastic plumber to work as part of a team, delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance works to domestic and commercial properties across the Isle of Wight. The role involves carrying out a wide variety of plumbing repairs and planned work in occupied and unoccupied residential properties, corporate and civic buildings, including reactive maintenance repairs, bathroom refurbishments, and commercial plumbing. The ability to carry out ceramic wall tiling and minor decorative and carpentry works as part of an upgrade is essential.
Job Responsibility:
Diagnose and rectify faults within core and other trades related repair requests
Ensure that the quality of work meets the highest possible standards at all times
Support all trades to deliver a professional and safe maintenance and repairs service
Respond swiftly to all emergency situations and resolve them efficiently
Keep the customer/office up to date with progress
Undertake all work efficiently and cost effectively, minimising non-productive time wherever possible
Apply applicable Health & Safety rules in all you do, using risk assessments, method statements and PPE when needed
Maintain tools, plant and equipment in a safe, clean and workable condition
Using your PDA to maintain accurate records of works undertaken with photographic evidence as necessary, reporting any difficulties encountered to your Supervisor or the Resource Controller
Ask your Supervisor for assistance when required
Be willing to work out of hours to the requirements of the client and participate on the call out rota
Always maintain your company vehicle in a clean and tidy condition and report any defects to the Supervisor in a timely manner

Requirements:
NVQ level 2-3 in Plumbing or equivalent
Full driving licence
Enhanced DBS check required before commencement of role
Trained to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent for a minimum of 7 years or more
Fully competent in all aspects of bathroom installations including tiling
Familiar and confident with use of a press gun
Familiar and confident with use of a pipe freezing kit
Competent and willing to work with rainwater goods as and when required
Able to use knowledge and judgement to make the right decisions and find effective solutions to problems
7 or more years’ experience in your trade
3 or more years’ experience in bathroom installations
Comfortable with basic carpentry to support with limited reactive maintenance works
Nice to have:
3 or more years working in Building, Maintenance and Educational environment
Additional experience and capability to complete tasks outside their core competency
