Job Description:

The Facilities Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems throughout the hospital to ensure a safe and functional environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Duties include troubleshooting water, drainage, and medical gas systems; performing preventative maintenance; and responding promptly to urgent plumbing needs to support uninterrupted hospital operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems throughout the hospital
  • Troubleshooting water, drainage, and medical gas systems
  • Performing preventative maintenance
  • Responding promptly to urgent plumbing needs
  • Using blueprints and plumbing principles to locate and clear stoppages
  • Installing valves and piping materials
  • Repairing all types of plumbing fixtures, faucets and flush valves
  • Taking apart equipment, determining the problem or faulty part and reassembling the equipment to a working order
  • Weekend scheduling, on-call rotation, alternate shift assignments or overtime as required

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3-5 Years Industrial Experience
  • Driver's License Required

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste disposal systems
  • Possesses a strong familiarity with plumbing codes, both nationally and locally
  • Position, align, cut, join and fuse pipes together using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, soldering sealants or welding equipment
  • Measure distances, set elevations and install pipe to grade as defined in drawings and specifications
  • Practices preventive maintenance of plumbing tools and equipment
  • Procures materials, tools and rental equipment at specified times to conform to work schedules
  • Confers with supervisory personnel, owners, engineers, contractors, inspectors, material suppliers and/or equipment dealers to resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints or construction problems
