Job Responsibility
Leads the technical direction for VP&C digital platforms, ensuring scalable, secure, and well-integrated solutions across workflows, AI, cloud, and enterprise systems
Acts as the main technical authority for platform and integration decisions, driving consistency and quality, and leading the evolution of AVA into a robust, enterprise-grade procurement platform
Act as the technical authority for assigned digital platforms (including AVA), owning key engineering and design decisions across workflows, integrations, data flows, AI components, and cloud services
Hold accountability for build vs. buy vs. integrate decisions, balancing speed, cost, risk, sustainability, and partner dependency
Define and enforce technical principles, design patterns, coding standards, and architectural guardrails for both in-house teams and delivery partners
Design and steward end-to-end technical solutions covering application architecture, integration layers, data flows, identity, security, and environments
Own integration design with internal enterprise systems (finance, ERP, identity, data platforms) and the external partner ecosystem using APIs, events, iPaaS, or batch mechanisms
Ensure all integration and architecture choices align with Vodafone Group cloud strategy, security posture, and enterprise architecture standards
Provide clear technical direction during backlog refinement, sprint planning, and delivery execution
Review, validate, and challenge technical designs and implementations from internal teams and external partners to ensure robustness at VP&C scale
Proactively identify technical risks (performance, scalability, security, AI constraints, integration debt) and drive mitigation plans
Guide the adoption of AI-enabled capabilities (including automation and GenAI use cases) in line with governance, security, and ethical standards
Own non-functional requirements: performance, availability, resilience, observability, security, and cost efficiency
Ensure cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, and operational models support stable production operations and future scalability
Identify opportunities to simplify architecture, reduce technical debt, and improve efficiency across platforms
Lead production incident analysis and root-cause reviews, feeding lessons learned into the technical roadmap
Contribute to platform roadmaps and technology roadmaps with a clear technical lens on where to invest, consolidate, or retire capabilities
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent professional experience
8+ years relevant experience in software engineering, technical architecture, or platform leadership roles
Demonstrable experience delivering enterprise scale digital solutions with significant integration complexity
Strong hands on background in modern cloud (Azure, AWS or GCP), CI/CD observability and platform operations
Production experience integrating LLM-based agents or GenAI capabilities into enterprise workflows
Pega, Camunda, Appian or equivalent BPM / low-code experience
Procurement, supply chain or source-to-pay domain familiarity
Certifications in Cloud (Azure / AWS / GCP), Architecture (TOGAF) or Agile
Platform engineering at enterprise scale: proven track record leading the engineering of complex multi-stakeholder platforms, ideally with workflow engines, an integration backbone and substantial third-party delivery
Agent and LLM integration: first-hand experience integrating LLM-based agents (RAG, tool-use, evaluation, observability) into production systems, including the design choices that determine cost, latency, accuracy and governance
Integration architecture: strong fluency in API, event-driven and iPaaS-based integration
experience designing for partner ecosystems where you do not control every endpoint
Workflow / BPM platforms: meaningful exposure to Pega, Camunda, Appian or equivalent low-code / BPM platforms
comfort with the engineering trade-offs of model-driven platforms versus code-first stacks
Partner orchestration and challenge: confident operating peer-to-peer with global SIs and delivery partners (Google, Accenture, hyperscalers, MSPs)
able to challenge designs and commercial framing without breaking the relationship
