Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Operations Engineer to join the Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) organization. This role supports day-to-day operations across infrastructure with a focus on reliability, monitoring, and incident response. As part of the Business Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) function, this role contributes to the stability and performance of business-critical systems through hands-on support, automation, and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibility:

Work on complex, broad impact initiatives including provision of high-level systems consultation for the technology teams
Work as key participant in large scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations functional area
Review and analyze complex technical challenges, as well as escalated support issues related to core business solutions
Make decisions on technical changes and enhancements
Consult with engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
Monitor infrastructure health and respond to alerts and performance issues
Execute patching, upgrades, and configuration changes under guidance
Participate in root cause analysis and post-incident reviews
Maintain compliance with operational standards and controls
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the operations team

Requirements:

3+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Infrastructure domains, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
3+ years of experience managing production support
3+ years of experience supporting production environments and responding to incidents
2+ years experience of infrastructure platforms such as Unix, Linux, Windows, VMware, OpenShift, Database, Network or Storage

Nice to have:

2+ years working in production support within a Financial Institution or related industry
Exposure to SRE principles and operational metrics (SLIs/SLOs)
Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus)
Basic scripting or automation experience (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible)
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
