Build and operate Infrastructure that supports open source at scale. You’ll be joining a well respected global consultancy firm who centre around open source values. The work involves solving complex platform and reliability challenges, collaborating closely with engineering teams, and helping organisations design systems they can run and evolve independently over time. Kubernetes is a critical part of the stack, but it goes well beyond that. You’ll work across the full infrastructure stack including networking, storage, Linux systems, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform and Ansible. This is a consulting-heavy engineering position where you are embedded with clients, solving real production problems, owning reliability, and helping teams build platforms they can operate independently over the long term. A large part of the work involves incident response and reliability engineering. You’ll diagnose complex production issues and improve system resilience. Because of the client-facing nature of the role, strong communication is essential. You’ll translate technical decisions into clear, practical guidance for engineering and product teams. The work is hands-on and collaborative, focused on delivering practical, maintainable solutions using open source technologies. You’ll help diagnose difficult production issues, evaluate trade-offs, recommend appropriate tools and approaches, and work alongside engineering teams to improve platform maturity. The role offers fully remote work with flexible hours in a global engineering team, with no on-call rotations and a sustainable engineering pace. There is a strong emphasis on open source contribution and upstream involvement, along with real ownership of production systems and architecture decisions. If you enjoy a mix of infrastructure engineering, reliability work, and technical advisory responsibilities, with opportunities to make a meaningful impact on how organisations build and operate their platforms over the long term this could be the perfect role for you.
