KF Plastics is looking for a plastic fabricator to join one of Australia’s leading acrylic manufacturing companies located in Moorebank, and with 40 years under our belt KF Plastics has built a strong presence in the industry through providing our clients with outstanding service and products. A Plastic fabricator, cabinet maker, steel fabricator or those with a general trade background would be perfectly suited. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone to be a part of creating something special in the role and building a long-term successful career.

Job Responsibility

  • Select and prepare the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation work
  • Use machinery including table saw, drills, bending machines, milling machines etc to create our customers creations
  • Reads and interprets manufacturing drawings, determine next steps and prepare materials, packing, sort and assemble jobs
  • Verifies dimensions of parts and quality of finish
  • Fits and assembles parts and attaches hardware fittings such as hinges, locks, catches, drawer runners and fasteners
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements as per manufacturer’s instructions
  • troubleshoots malfunctions and organises repair
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace, and abide by workplace safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct thorough inventory regularly to ensure there is enough stock for upcoming orders
  • Other tasks as directed

Requirements

  • Cabinet making (Kitchens and Bathrooms) of Furniture Certificate III preferred but not required
  • Forklift licence required
  • 1 years previous experience in similar role or industry is desirable
  • Organised and able to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Read and interpret routine information on written job instructions and standard operating procedures. including engineering drawings
  • Attention to detail

  • Performs maintenance, modifications, and repair of furnishings, cabinets, tables, bulkheads, wood trim and other interior components. Uses maintenance instructions and technical data for inspection, maintenance, and repair on Special Mission aircraft. Evaluates quality cosmetic appearance and serviceability of all installed wood components and plastic laminate panels for scheduled repair. Works with wood, metal and composite materials. Uses and maintains power tools along with other shop equipment. Measures and cuts vinyl's, plastics, phenolics, composites and metals accurately. Assembles, pins and glues cabinet shells made from polymer and metal honeycombs with high degrees of accuracy. Properly installs drawer slides, hinges, latches and other aircraft specific hardware in subassemblies. Disassembles and reassembles aircraft cabinetry, strips laminate or veneer covering from existing cabinets. Cuts, fits and trims laminate or veneer coverings and repairs damaged cabinetry. Using samples and/or technical drawings, fabricates custom cabinetry. Upon request, designs and fabricates high-end, made to order interior accessories. Remanufactures interior cabinetry items that are beyond repair. Proficient in the use of FAA certified materials and supplies to accomplish cabinetry tasks for use aboard C-40, VC-25, C-32 and C-37 aircraft, among others. Performs preventive maintenance, adjusts and repairs industrial machines. Coordinates maintenance efforts with the Production Supervisors and Maintenance Operation Coordination Center. Documents discrepancies in the applicable form and inputs data in Maintenance Information Systems (MIS). Assists in monitoring bench and shop stocks. Orders materials and supplies as required. Ensures compliance with the safety, housekeeping, tool control, and FOD prevention programs. Must be able to work first shift, second shift, third shift and/or weekend shift as required.
