Job Description

Are you an experienced Plant Workshop Manager or Workshop Supervisor with strong plant maintenance knowledge and proven leadership skills? A well-established engineering and plant business is looking for a proactive Plant Workshop Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of its busy workshop in Eversley. This is an excellent opportunity for a Plant Workshop Manager to take ownership of workshop performance, lead a skilled team, and help drive improvements across maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency. The successful Plant Workshop Manager will play a key role in minimising downtime, improving preventative maintenance processes, and maintaining high workshop standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and manage a team of mechanics and welders, allocating workloads effectively
  • Support recruitment, coaching, and development of workshop staff
  • Ensure servicing, repairs, and inspections are completed efficiently and safely
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programmes to maximise plant availability
  • Support engineers with diagnosing complex plant and mechanical faults
  • Ensure all 12-month inspections are audited and signed off correctly
  • Monitor damage charges, labour usage, and parts costs accurately
  • Work closely with the Parts Controller to maintain effective stock levels

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Workshop Manager, Workshop Supervisor, or similar role
  • Strong background within plant maintenance and repair environments
  • NVQ in Plant Maintenance or equivalent qualification
  • Proven people management and team leadership experience
  • Good understanding of plant legislation, compliance, and HSQE standards
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience implementing workshop systems and processes

Experience with Syrinx plant management systems
