A well-established engineering and plant business is looking for a proactive Plant Workshop Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of its busy workshop in Eversley. This is an excellent opportunity for a Plant Workshop Manager to take ownership of workshop performance, lead a skilled team, and help drive improvements across maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency. The successful Plant Workshop Manager will play a key role in minimising downtime, improving preventative maintenance processes, and maintaining high workshop standards.
Job Responsibility
Lead and manage a team of mechanics and welders, allocating workloads effectively
Support recruitment, coaching, and development of workshop staff
Ensure servicing, repairs, and inspections are completed efficiently and safely
Oversee preventative maintenance programmes to maximise plant availability
Support engineers with diagnosing complex plant and mechanical faults
Ensure all 12-month inspections are audited and signed off correctly
Monitor damage charges, labour usage, and parts costs accurately
Work closely with the Parts Controller to maintain effective stock levels
Requirements
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Workshop Manager, Workshop Supervisor, or similar role
Strong background within plant maintenance and repair environments
NVQ in Plant Maintenance or equivalent qualification
Proven people management and team leadership experience
Good understanding of plant legislation, compliance, and HSQE standards
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Experience implementing workshop systems and processes
