Job Description:

As a Plant & Weighbridge Operative at FCC Environment, you will support safe and efficient site operations—operating heavy plant, managing weighbridge transactions, and assisting customers and hauliers in line with our safety rules, policies and Duty of Care.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operate mobile plant safely and efficiently in line with Group policies and procedures
  • Carry out duties in a safe manner
  • use the correct tools and PPE
  • and follow site safety rules and codes of practice
  • Maintain plant and equipment as specified and complete the required records
  • Operate weighbridge systems in accordance with Duty of Care regulations and the site licence, keeping accurate records
  • Provide courteous, prompt service to customers and hauliers
  • assist them where safe and practical to do so
  • Work to staff rosters and provide cover for planned/unplanned absences
  • Report any breaches of rules, near misses, unsafe practices or dangerous conditions to the Site Manager
  • Support recycling activities and, where required, work at other sites

Requirements:

  • Honest, hard working team player with strong timekeeping
  • Able to use initiative and operate heavy plant safely and effectively (training provided)
  • Adaptable and comfortable dealing with new operational problems as they arise
  • Flexible approach to work and willingness to support the wider team
  • Completion of relevant CMS modules and training defined within the Training Matrix (or willingness to complete)
