Job Description:

The Plant Sanitation position is a full time position that requires an individual with attention to detail and experience using cleaning supplies and chemicals. The Plant Sanitation Team Member will assist the team by cleaning and sanitizing designated building areas, machinery and tools while maintaining cleanliness of the plant.

Job Responsibility:

  • Follow all Workplace Safety procedures
  • Follow all Food Safety Program procedures
  • Follow all Cleaning and Sanitization procedures
  • Clean designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, laundry, restroom cleaning, etc.)
  • Collect and dispose of all garbage, recycling, and compost
  • Clean and sanitize machinery, equipment, tools, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness of plant throughout shift
  • Follow all cleaning procedures and schedules
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • A positive attitude
  • Basic computer, reading, writing, and mathematical skills
  • Be familiar with the safe and efficient use of equipment and chemical supplies
  • Be familiar with Safety Data Sheets and product labels (WHMIS)
  • Previous work experience in the food/manufacturing industry is considered an asset
  • Food Safe is an asset, however in-house Food Safe Training will be provided
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A good communicator and team player
  • Physically capable and energetic
