Job Responsibility

  • Collecting product samples and performing laboratory testing
  • Conducting microbiological, chemical, physical, and organoleptic testing
  • Plating, reading, documenting, and recording laboratory results accurately
  • Maintaining detailed quality records and performing data entry
  • Following Quality Control Hold procedures for out-of-specification products
  • Calibrating laboratory equipment and assisting with troubleshooting
  • Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality protocols
  • Monitoring quality trends and communicating findings to supervisors
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility
  • Assisting with plant sanitation and maintaining 5S standards
  • Meeting daily with production leadership to review quality concerns
  • Performing additional quality-related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or another related science
  • at least two years of experience in a similar Quality Control or laboratory environment
  • Knowledge of microbiological, chemical, physical, and sensory testing methods
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with laboratory testing equipment and calibration
  • Computer proficiency with Windows-based applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work in cold, refrigerated production areas
  • Must be able to work in a loud manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to learn new procedures and laboratory techniques quickly
