Job Responsibility
Collecting product samples and performing laboratory testing
Conducting microbiological, chemical, physical, and organoleptic testing
Plating, reading, documenting, and recording laboratory results accurately
Maintaining detailed quality records and performing data entry
Following Quality Control Hold procedures for out-of-specification products
Calibrating laboratory equipment and assisting with troubleshooting
Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality protocols
Monitoring quality trends and communicating findings to supervisors
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility
Assisting with plant sanitation and maintaining 5S standards
Meeting daily with production leadership to review quality concerns
Performing additional quality-related duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or another related science
at least two years of experience in a similar Quality Control or laboratory environment
Knowledge of microbiological, chemical, physical, and sensory testing methods
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Experience working with laboratory testing equipment and calibration
Computer proficiency with Windows-based applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to work in cold, refrigerated production areas
Must be able to work in a loud manufacturing environment
Must be able to learn new procedures and laboratory techniques quickly
Must maintain excellent attention to detail while working independently
